History of the Firm
The Firm currently has 29 Partners, 16 Associates, 14 Assistant Solicitors and 46 other fee earners. Its management and administration is handled by a chief executive who is not a lawyer, but is accorded partner status.
The Firm is supported by a workforce of approximately 120 employees, consisting of secretaries, accounts and billing staff, receptionists, IT professionals and a marketing manager. Challinors therefore has a total workforce of in region of 220.
On 1st April 2006, Challinors merged with well-established Birmingham firm Cartwright & Lewis. Cartwright & Lewis was started in the early 1900's. The name Cartwright & Lewis was created in 1957. Cartwright & Lewis have a long history in the West Midlands, in particular the South Birmingham area and are well known for property related work, personal injury, family and private client work
Clinical Negligence
Clinical or Medical Negligence involves claims or disputes against General Practitioners, Hospital Doctors, Surgeons, Dentists and other specialists providing healthcare, NHS or private.

Construction and Development
The Construction and Property Development Department of Challinors Solicitors was created in July 2004 creating a Department of Solicitors, Arbitrators, Adjudicators, Mediators and Lecturers.
In addition to their primary professions, the Challinors team deal with development and planning issues. Team members have also co-authored publications and written articles and delivered papers on a wide variety of subjects within the field of Construction and Property Law.
Challinors provides a diverse range of services including development contract advice, construction contract advice and expert witness services, debt recovery and the recovery of contractual entitlements. With the combined technical and legal expertise the team has particular experience of both bringing and defending Adjudications. The solicitors have extensive knowledge of litigation procedures and the pre-action protocol.
