About Advanced Driving Techniques
Advanced Driving Techniques is based in Yorkshire. It was set up and is run by Mark Deere who used to drive 50,000 miles a year on business himself and had 250 vehicles under his control. He knows only too well the difference a well run fleet can make to the bottom line of any company

Why we Came into Being
With 20 deaths and 250 serious accidents every week Work Related Road Safety is being moved up the agenda in most boardrooms.
Directors are keen to reduce their own exposure to possible prosecutions from the HSE
The true often hidden costs of accidents are many times more than the recoverable insurance costs

The Department for Transport research shows that nearly 500,000 drivers are unlicenced. Some 17,000 plus of these were banned under totting up but continued to drive. Are any of your drivers banned?
Performance Driving Courses
This course is aimed at either the person who has just received a more powerful company car and would like some tips on how to get the best out of it safely, or at the individual who has at long last decided to treat themselves to that long dreamed about sports car.
With POWER and SPEED comes responsibility.
Let us show show you how to get the best from your new car safely.
This is a half day course commencing and finishing at the client's office or home.
Courses are run by appointment and are either 9.00am to 1.00pm or 1.00pm to 5.00pm.
The client is responsible for adding the trainer onto their insurance for the day to enable a demonstration drive. Evidence of this has to be shown prior to the training. Courses tend to be bespoke for the driver as they may well like to concentrate on specific areas.
We like to cover a full mixture of roads to show the cars true abilities and the extra safety features often fitted to more powerful cars.
What Is SAFED for Vans
SAFED has been designed as a single day course aimed at improving the safe and fuel- efficient driving techniques of drivers of vans up to 7.5tonnes. It was developed from a pilot programme carried out during November 2005. The pilot showed that improved driving skills can reduce fuel use by over 8% and the number of gear changes by over 50%. This improved driving style is expected to reduce driver stress and the number of accidents.
Who Can Take Part?
You Must:
Drive for a company based in England, or be a resident in England
Hold a valid driving licence, including Category B or C1 entitlements.

Pre-Employment Driver Assessment
Where companies frequently take on staff who will routinely drive a car or LCV on the companies business it is sound practice to have those people risk assessed prior to employment.
This includes a full licence checking service.
Driver Licence Checking Service
A new study on driving licence checks carried out direct with the DVLA in 2004/2005 has revealed that a large number of drivers, as many as 1 in 4, including LGV and company fleet drivers, are driving illegally.

Many drivers were either banned from driving, provisional licence holders or, in the case of Large Goods Vehicles, not licenced to drive the category of vehicles their job requires. Many more had undeclared convictions for speeding offences and drink driving.
With more people than ever now driving their own cars on company business many employers have stopped checking licences thinking that it is no longer their responsibility.
