How we’ve earned our reputation and will fulfil your expectations
If you think performance can be improved within your team, your first step will probably be to contact a training provider. There are many to choose from - some better than others - so how do you know which is the best for you?
To make your decision easier, we’ve outlined exactly what you can expect from Guiding Light Training Solutions:
1. Understanding Your Needs
Guiding Light Training Solutions believe that the most effective way of providing you with learning and developmental solutions that actually do make a measurable difference is by Working in Partnership with you. To this end we will meet with you to identify your exact requirements. We want to know as much about you as possible; your organisational culture, customers, products and services, current and potential challenges, your vision and goals. We work to a tried and tested checklist to make sure nothing is overlooked.
2 Making recommendations based on your desired outcomes
We will mutually identify your exact requirements and make recommendations based upon your aims, objectives and expected outcomes and determine a realistic and achievable strategy based upon your short, medium and long term goals, timescale and budget. Being pro-active is vital to success, and between us we will explore potential challenges and pit-falls that could have a negative impact and determine solutions before they arise.
Taking account of your timescale and budget
After our meeting we will send you a written resume of our discussion, ensuring no mis-understanding or lack of clarity hinders the way forward. Through our partnership, you can feel secure in the knowledge that we are fully aware of your requirements, expectations and desired outcomes enabling us to develop solutions that accurately address your needs, allowing you to concentrate on your core business.
3. An agreed strategy to improve performance
You have the right to know what to expect from us, and both of us require clarity regarding purpose, expectations, aims and objectives. Following our meeting you’ll be provided with a proposal and service level agreement which identifies the development phase, pilot, full rollout schedule, standard of course materials, key milestones to be met, measurement metrics, payment schedule, etc to achieve your desired outcomes. Should we fail to meet our commitment to you as detailed in our SLA we will put right any deficiencies at no additional cost to you
4. Why clients choose Guiding Light Training Solutions
Our Approach to Working with You
Success at any level is based upon effective communication between us. By being friendly and approachable we promote openness, honesty and integrity – which are core values to any worthwhile relationship. We want all your dealings with Guiding Light Training Solutions to be a pleasurable and rewarding experience and you can be sure you’ll receive consistently high levels of customer care and quality of service.
Our excellent reputation has evolved because we are entrusted to add value at every stage of addressing your developmental needs, which is in no small part due to our “flexible” approach and “can do” attitude.
You’ll benefit from our expertise, enthusiasm and experience
You can be assured that your solution is being developed by experts who provide a wealth of expertise and experience gained across a wide range of industry sectors. More importantly everyone at Guiding Light all have one core value in common; a passion to support and encourage individuals, teams and organisations to continually develop and achieve their full potential.
You are in Control
Throughout the whole process you will be kept appraised of progress with regular review meetings, satisfaction surveys, delegate feedback, etc.
5. Developing the Right Solution for You
We take a novel approach to the development of your solutions whereby the developer(s) is more often than not the facilitator(s). This is what sets us apart from some other training providers, whose developers don’t ever come into contact with the people attending their courses. Our strategy promotes ownership and self-pride on the part of the developer, and draws on their own professionalism, subject matter expertise, personality and personal knowledge and experience of what makes learning and development solutions from Guiding Light Training Solutions wholly effective.
Throughout the development phase of your chosen solution or programme it will be continuously measured against your stated specifications and required outcomes, ensuring that the highest standards are maintained and your expectations met. Once completed, all associated materials will be submitted to you for approval.
A pilot delivery to test the effectiveness of your training
Dependent upon your requirements it may be beneficial to run a “pilot” delivery to stakeholders at this point. This will provide you with first hand experience of the material and associated delivery style, and allow for final amendments and adjustments where appropriate. Only when you are 100% satisfied and willing to “sign-off” will we deem the development stage complete
6. Training Delivery
Option A – full service development and delivery
If you have opted for a full Guiding Light service incorporating development and delivery, you can be assured that our facilitators are subject matter experts with a wealth of knowledge and experience in their particular specialism. Our style of delivery is structured but informal, and stimulates an environment that enables your people to enjoy their learning experience, allows them to feel empowered to challenge, ask questions and contribute to the full so they gain maximum benefit and feel confident in adopting new behaviours and skills.
Option B – delivery by your own trainers
You may have elected to have your own Training and Development professionals deliver the developed solutions in-house. Should this be the case you may decide that we host a Train the Trainer event whereby your team would be able to familiarise themselves with the material and style to ensure a consistent delivery. This option allows you to retain ownership, espouse collaborative working and the overall cost to you is kept to a minimum.
7. Measuring Effectiveness
Immediately after the training
Unlike a majority of our competitors, we are not content with a snap shot measure of the effectiveness of the solutions we provide. We appreciate that the completion of a workshop or course evaluation provides your personnel with the opportunity to measure their satisfaction at a single point in time and promotes the feel good factor of being consulted. However as a measure of effectiveness this approach is somewhat lacking.
We are committed to making a positive, ongoing difference, therefore the evaluation of our developmental interventions will be conducted over an extended period of time. Initially your personnel will be asked to complete the traditional evaluation on completion of the workshop or course which will provide us with invaluable information regarding delivery style and delegates initial feelings on the value of the content and relevance to themselves.
6 weeks after training
Six weeks after the event we will contact your personnel (and with your permission their line management) to determine whether the skills, knowledge or behaviours have been embedded and acted upon rather than learnt at a superficial level, and the results fed back to you.
3 months after training
Three months later we will confer with you to ensure that your solution has achieved your expectations and continues to make a positive difference.
